Re: Eddie Cail W2LEC
Did you return the unit? The way your post reads, it appears you got a full refund from PayPal but you don't say if you returned the radio and it is not clear what the refund covered. Note: the URL for the ad is no longer on the server so the story is somewhat incomplete and confusing. Thanks... de ...

Re: BEWARE: Yaesu FT-857D For Sale
The ad for the FT-875D has been deleted because the seller did not follow the rules. Non-licensed users may not sell a transmitting device on QTH.com unless it is for a estate relative who is identified by a legitimate call sign within the text of the ad. Further, our site rules do not allow duplica...

Re: BEWARE: Yaesu FT-857D For Sale
This warning does not mean for us to be alerted when seeing all ads selling FT-857D equipment But, because the seller does not have a call sign, it not possible to know just who to be aware of. This is but one problem we face when we attempt to deal with users not having a legitimate callsign. There...

Re: cheap source for those just getting started?
Tim: Finding a good clean Kenwood TS-520 transceiver and a 20 amp 12 volt regulated power supply to go with it would be a good start. No fancy antennas needed, just some well built dipoles will go the job. As to how to go about getting something done, find a local experienced ham and pick his brain ...

It is beginning to look like you advertised a "mint" radio then sold it to someone who did not like it because the radio you sent to him wasn't a "mint" radio.

Thank you N9LCD for adding the detailed process used by FedEx. It will be very helpful to any who need to do a claim in the future. Re: "Professional" Packing (not)
By far, packing electronic equipment for shipping is one of the least understood yet most prominent cause of damaged shipments and needless negative reports. There are several resources providing sound advise and instructions on how to pack, what not to do, what to be sure and do, and how to respond...

Re: Help/opinions on transaction gone wrong.
I also feel the seller holds some responsibility, it is always too easy to blame the carrier. It the the seller's TOTAL responsibility to properly pack and ship using the carrier of your choice. This is what YOU pay for and is not negotiable. If the seller does not make sure the unit was packed pro...
