As I've always firmly believed... there's no excuses, other than not having a heartbeat or being unconscious, in not honoring an obligation timely. A buyer is a creditor... pure and simple. Are you sure there's no miscommunication going on here? To offer a free FT-890 plus all monies returned sounds very unrealistic. Would you consider posting the E-mails between you and him so we can get a better idea what's going on?

What's the reason he gave for backing out? That's the main point. Your noted "inconvenience" in getting a cashiers check and driving to / from the bank doesn't substantiate your claim in calling this guy bad.
