Topic: Yaesu Repair Center-The WORST Experience Ever...Bar None!!!!

I have heard nothing good ever about Yaesu's factory repair centers. I have a VX-7R that works good but has some issues with charging the battery while plugging directly into the radio. No problem at all with the drop-in charger though and it operates perfectly. Rather than send it off, even under w...

I think you misread Scott, Tony is one of the techs at Universal and yes, I have read and responded to that post. You can't find better people to deal with than Universal for honesty but I have read good things about Memphis Amateur also and I want to give them business after the holiday.

Hello again Ritner, It's good to see that you have at least gotten the radio back in your possession. I read that you were thinking of sending it off to the manufacturer but I've heard nothing good about them either. At some of the smaller merchants they do repairs and at most of them you can even s...

I think it is now time that he comes up with another round of excuses I believe you would be correct. When they came up with the "since we were so busy, had so many obligations and unfinished business that we just shut down and left town" type of excuse I'm sure they'll have to use a little more im...

I have been reading good feedback about Memphis Amateur consistently on this site and throughout the web. I'm considering a trade-in and equipment purchase in the near future and would like to give them some business. What's their link or phone number? I did a web search and I believe I've found the...

Unbelievable! How could anybody be running a legitimate business and be able to stay in business with the slow or no service, un-professionalism and inconsiderateness that they've applied in your situation? A person could go by sailboat to Japan, rebuild the entire radio by hand and sail back with t...

Harold, KZ2K - Good Seller

I highly recommend Harold, KZ2K if you see any gear you need being sold by him. Radio was shipped the same day he received my payment, it was in the condition as advertised and I received good correspondence as far as letting me know when my payment was received, when he would ship and then sending ...

hobie1, Sorry to hear things did not go well for you with Universal Radio. I realize that occasionally you can get the wrong person on the wrong day to assist you and it happens everywhere. It's not always a reflection on the company as a whole. I won't waste my time or yours telling you they've don...

Better printers = better counterfeit checks/M.O.'s

Nowadays with laser printers and a host of check printing and publishing programs you can print checks and money orders that even fool the tellers. This was talked about on the Clark Howard show one time and is becoming more and more common. Appealing to people's greed you'll get an out of country b...

Dealer No No List

wr0t Another one of their local customers wrote me and said that Larry actually told him he'd like to do phone and Internet sales only and close his doors to the public. Here is a part of that letter: >I live six miles from R&L and I will not step foot in the store. > >The attitude that you get from...

Wow! More scam artist out there than I ever thought.

wr0t, I remember your feedback on my post about R & L Electronics last week. You wouldn't believe how many of their buddies on eHam.net (where I also posted the incident) told me since it was only a $100 radio I should just get over it. When they use their money for my purchases then I'll take their...

Wow!

I made a post last week that well known dealers are just as bad if not worse. An individual expects a certain amount of risk when buying or selling to another individual but we put a lot more trust and have more expectations from a well known business. There's a lot of companies now taking advantage...

R&L Ripping me off! It only takes one time for me!

Mark-K8ZW I couldn't understand it either. I had purchased two radios from them before plus several antennas and other small stuff. I've actually wrote good reviews about them before. But as stated above, it only takes one time if you rip me off to run me off. I don't care how good you served me bef...

From the other posts about R & L Electronics

It seems my incident isn't an isolated case. I don't get it though. Seems to me if you run a good, honest (the key word is >honest<) business with decent prices you wouldn't be able to keep your shelves stocked. I was a repeat buyer and would still probably be one if the $5 - $10 extra dollars they ...

Dishonesty grows.

It's the same problem I had with a well known business. They see individual sellers making money by ripping people off and they figure they should do the same thing. I was sold the wrong color radio last year from Lee Electronics in Ohio. I was offered a refund if I sent the radio back at my cost. T...

Reminds me of one time....

Although my seller went through with his purchase, I received no less than 30 emails (about 6 a day) before the purchase with questions about the radio and no less than 20 after the purchase asking me how to use it. The guy thought free lifetime tech support was a part of the deal I guess. It might ...

R & L Electronics - selling demo items as new

New gear buyers beware! Below is an account of a purchase I made from a well known radio equipment dealer who tried to get away with the same thing that dishonest sellers on eBay try to: Recently I made a purchase over the phone with R & L Electronics in Hamilton, Ohio. I’ve made purchases with them...
