Overall USPS

To me, USPS is a far better service than the other carriers in all aspects. UPS can handle larger packages; this is the only time I will use UPS. Fedex Ground these days is offering some EXTREMELY competitive rates and I am considering giving them a few trial runs.

Being in Alaska and shipping a lot of items to the lower 48, I get a lot of concern from potential buyers about shipping such a long way. This might seem elementary but: When shipping something by mail, spend about a buck and get a "Proof of Mailing". There's no insurance involved. Anyone using UPS for shipping BEWARE!! I shipped a Yaesu HF radio high end model that was packed and shipped through a UPS STORE. Was damaged in shipment (with insurance) and now UPS won't pay claim.
