Looking for tower help in west Florida

I need a tower climber who can remove a three-element SteppIR from a 40-foot tower and put it on a 100-foot tower. The 100-foot Rohn 45 has a Force12 520-340 beam that needs to be removed to make room for the SteppIR. I will trade the Force beam for doing the transfer. I am in Crystal River, FL. AL7...

When the item arrived I noted it was like new and the price was right. I live out in the country and am using it to boos...

W4PIG, Excellent trader, super follow up

I bought an amplifier from W4PIG in Alabama. He arranged to have a nearby ham transport the amp to my qth on his way to the Orlando hamfest. The amp was in excellent condition and Dan followed up making sure the amp arrived in good condition and I was satisfied with its operation. Great guy! Great t...

N9NJS GRE 800 Scanner

N9NJS listed a GRE 800 scanner here, I have had it for about a week, the condition is like new, works fine IF I figure out how to operate all the bells-and-whistles. I live out in the country and this was great to program, just enter the zip code or county name and this scanner starts looking at all...

Looking for tech in Inverness, FL

A year or two ago I needed help repairing a rig in this area and found a ham in Inverness who worked on rigs. He did a good job, but I lost his info. My computer, containing all that sort of info was hit by lightning. If anyone knows the info on this guy, please let me know. Dave, AL7HG.

Revitalizing my Alumatower

I just delivered my 25-year-old self-supporting heavy duty Alumatower to Vero Beach, Fla., where Aluma will completely renovate it -- when I bought the new tower it cost around $500, today one would cost more than $3,000. Aluma is totally rebuilding the tower, replacing broken rungs, welding cracks ...

Rotor Doc comes through

Several years ago I bought an RD-1800 rotor from Craig at Rotor Doc. Due to miscommunication the rotor did not fit into my Aluminum tower. I am not ready to put up a Rohn tower and contacted Craig to see if he could upgrade the rotor before I put it on the tower, here's his response: I know you've b...

KD7UVX - Got taken by this Oregon Ham

A Medford, Oregon, ham named Brian Bowie advertised a Drake setup here, an SPR-4 with FS-4. When I answered his ad he refused to split them up and requested a $615 check for both. I sent the check, but he never sent the equipment. Does anyone know what 'authorities' I should contact in Oregon to 're...

Digital Operation

The article in the recent QST about Rigblaster Pro got me interested in this type of operation -- digital, computer, don't even know what to call it! My last experience in this area (?) was with RTTY in the 70s, remember those HUGE terminals with the keyboard and punch tapes -- can't pay anyone to t...
