K3IE, Hunter, great transaction

Received an antenna controller from K3IE, Hunter. It was as described, in beautiful condition. The control box and six-positon switch was well packed. The transaction was effortless, the switch was like-new. Great seller and kept me informed about shipping schedule.

N5BKL, great seller

I bought a Yaesu 800 rotor and controller from N5BKL.
He described the equipment exactly like it was, and the price was right!
He communicated well before and after the sale.
Jim provided tracking information when she shipped.
Both items were in good (used) shape and are a good addition to my shack.

K0XG: Patient, helpful seller

Jeremy is a helpful seller. He had a Green Heron rotor controller for sale. I probably drove him crazy with multiple emails and questions. He answered them all and was very helpful--sorry the controller did not work out for my installation.

W4OM, great seller

I bought a dummy load from W4OM. Told him I would hire him to pack equipment I sell!
Well packed, the box came UPS, which is always a worry. Arrived in perfect shape.
I sent Bill a check and he shipped as soon as it cleared.
I highly recommend W4OM.

Re: Steven Olban SCAMMER ALERT using another HAMS call!

The same exact thing happened to me. I was running an ad saying I was looking for an amplifier. He offered me an Acom 2000 for $2,200. When I asked for a photo he sent one. He said he was the first owner, said he had an invoice but never sent it. Without me asking he cut the price to $1,800. He said...

Looking for tower help in west Florida

I need a tower climber who can remove a three-element SteppIR from a 40-foot tower and put it on a 100-foot tower. The 100-foot Rohn 45 has a Force12 520-340 beam that needs to be removed to make room for the SteppIR. I will trade the Force beam for doing the transfer. I am in Crystal River, FL. AL7...

N9NJS GRE 800 Scanner

N9NJS listed a GRE 800 scanner here, I have had it for about a week, the condition is like new, works fine IF I figure out how to operate all the bells-and-whistles. I live out in the country and this was great to program, just enter the zip code or county name and this scanner starts looking at all...

Looking for tech in Inverness, FL

A year or two ago I needed help repairing a rig in this area and found a ham in Inverness who worked on rigs. He did a good job, but I lost his info. My computer, containing all that sort of info was hit by lightning. If anyone knows the info on this guy, please let me know. Dave, AL7HG.

Revitalizing my Alumatower

I just delivered my 25-year-old self-supporting heavy duty Alumatower to Vero Beach, Fla., where Aluma will completely renovate it -- when I bought the new tower it cost around $500, today one would cost more than $3,000. Aluma is totally rebuilding the tower, replacing broken rungs, welding cracks ...

Rotor Doc comes through

Several years ago I bought an RD-1800 rotor from Craig at Rotor Doc. Due to miscommunication the rotor did not fit into my Aluminum tower. I am not ready to put up a Rohn tower and contacted Craig to see if he could upgrade the rotor before I put it on the tower, here's his response: I know you've b...

KD7UVX - Got taken by this Oregon Ham

A Medford, Oregon, ham named Brian Bowie advertised a Drake setup here, an SPR-4 with FS-4. When I answered his ad he refused to split them up and requested a $615 check for both. I sent the check, but he never sent the equipment. Does anyone know what 'authorities' I should contact in Oregon to 're...

Digital Operation

The article in the recent QST about Rigblaster Pro got me interested in this type of operation -- digital, computer, don't even know what to call it! My last experience in this area (?) was with RTTY in the 70s, remember those HUGE terminals with the keyboard and punch tapes -- can't pay anyone to t...
