Same ads every day.

Why is it that the same ads are showing up every day? Some for months. Nothing changed, just the same ads day after day. Are these people actually listing these every day, or are some automatically updated daily? Maybe it is just me, but it gets old after awhile. At least make a change in the ad, l...

Obviously, the guy was sounding out the word. There are many spell-checkers available, so why not use one when posting an ad? I don't spell perfectly, or punctuate properly all the time, but when I post an ad, I do make a good effort to spell correctly. This was brought up for more of a chuckle than...

You've got to be kidding...

Ok, I have thrown in my $.02 worth in the past regarding spelling. This latest one is one for the books. A, "Malty Mode" radio". That has to be a first.

I must agree with the original post. Not only are many hams tightwads, there are many vultures that pounce on recently deceased amateurs equipment., but that's another story. A newbie can be on the air for as little as a couple hundred dollars, and work the world with simple, low cost antennas. Ther...

Proofread your ad before posting.

This has been mentioned many times before, but here we go again. Please proofread your ad before posting. I find it hard to take an ad seriously if the poster won't take the time to proofread their ad, and to correct spelling mistakes. There are many online dictionaries available. Some browsers have...

All points well taken. Don't get me wrong, cb's have their place, and there are many nice cb'ers. Many go on to get their ham ticket. I would just hate to see QTH drift away from the main focus, ie, ham radio. I most enjoy this site.

More cb's

It seems like more and more cb's are being sold on this site all the time. I hope this current trend isn't the future of this site.

Amazing how this site works. For a week I had a comment on this very topic, and no comments. Go figure. Keep E-bay listings off of this site, or send Scott a percentage if you do sell it on E-bay.

Why would you e-mail them? It is one thing if you get a laugh from posting on here, but to e-mail them is only going to agitate them. A couple of years ago, I placed an ad regarding the spelling mistakes in the ads on this site, and others. I recommended a browser that had spell-check, or an online ...

For one, equipment is easier/safer to ship when it is in it's original box/inserts, etc. When selling said equipment, it seems to add that extra attraction to the sale. Right or wrong, it might also make the buyer feel like the equipment was better taken care of. That's my take on it anyway.

Advertising E-bay listings on QTH

This question may have been covered before, but I am just curious. Is it showing poor taste to come to Scott's site, and put a E-bay listing, without listing the item on QTH? I don't think that shows good taste, but rather is taking advantage of Scott's great site. Obviously it is allowed here, but ...

I have seen many ads where people come from different directions, trying to get equipment for free, or next to nothing. Great transaction with Paul/K2HU

I recently purchased a dual-band h/t from Paul. H/T was as advertised, in mint condition. Paul replied quickly, and shipped promptly. I would definitely deal with Paul again. Thanks Paul. Pat N8QBY

I have addressed the spelling issue a couple of times in the past. I did so in a way not to offend anyone, but there were still a couple that took offense to my article. Although some do bring a chuckle, some of these ads would make a 5th grader cringe. It does not take a college degree to pick up a...

Those radios are nothing but glorified cb radios. Don't attempt to sell them here on this site, as your ad will be deleted, and rightfully so. Go to E-Bay and sell them, they don't care what garbage they allow someone to put up for auction.

Copper Electronics, they are a joke. They have been selling glorified cb radios that they advertise as 10 meter radios, but everyone knows that they are made to be easily converted to the cb band. They have also in years past, sold those amplifiers that do not meet the requirements of the FCC for a ...
