That is certainly one way to interpret what Terry wrote. The 3rd sentence of his warning however seems to imply that if there is an issue one will end up in court as the only recourse and that this is how it will happen. I was pointing out that just because this may happen sometimes it hardly seems ...

Re: ********FYI INFORMATION ON THE UPS STORE********

The UPS store is not and I repeat NOT the same as UPS. The UPS store is a private contractor. The UPS store packs incorrectly and YOU must go to small claim court to try to get your $$$$$ back for damaged goods. UPS will not even discuss it with you. How do I know? I bought an AL80B from a guy out ...

Does the concept: As-Is Described ring true with anyone? I may list this way and it means EXACTLY what it says and I stand behind that. It does not have to imply that it is yours and tough luck if not as described. All is not Black and White every time, not every Ham is trying to screw all the others...

What is there to decide?

This is one of the classic scam formats and I would hope anyone could spot it as such.

On the other hand, someone must fall for these or they would not try as they are so bad.

How is it a quandry or even an issue? If you agree to something and then simply decide not to follow through as agreed it is black and white. If you agree to the PayPal terms then follow them but don't make lame excuses for deciding it is not right.....you already agreed. Why is this hard to underst...

Re: Paypal fee in Ad.

When I signed up for Paypal, long ago, it was prohibited to specifically add the fee. K8VF When you sign up with PayPal you AGREE to not pass on any fee associated with using the service. Now you suggest the buyer pay the fee? How can this be defended at all? I simply contact the seller and remind ...

I sell my items by stating "This unit is AS-IS described so please ask questions before buying." This means exactly what it says,no more,no less. So far I have avoided any problems by being fairly detailed and honest with my descriptions. I also insist on a short phone call before doing any deal,no ...

This does not have to be that bad. I have been using PayPal since 2000 I think and I have had very few problems with them too. Sounds to me like you are just attracting "slow ones" somehow? Asking about PayPal seems to imply that they will want to take care of it faster not slower to me. If they ask and you agree and they do not commit and pay,who cares what they think? I ask for their PayPal address and send them a request...

Here on QTH paypal or ebay might not have the authority to pull the ad, but maybe we should put up a stink and let the seller know what he or she is doing is against the rules. I have no problem buying something from somebody for a set price, just work it into the price of the item. That way you ar...

I was wondering the same thing? There seemed to be no obvious reason for locking the thread both Larry and I were part of but it is locked nonetheless? Re: paypal

PAYPAL is a convenience for the BUYER to get his item shipped right away without waiting for the check to arrive and clear or have the hassle of going to the post office to get a money order. I as the seller will wait till the payment clears, so if you want it shipped sooner, then overnight me a po...
