MINT CONDITION

Used equipment can be good as new or in excellent, perfect condition, but it can NEVER be MINT! --- For something to be mint it has to be in a sealed factory box just arrived from the factory. As soon as you open that box ALL the mintyness escapes. Now you have used equipment in excellent condition....

Simple solution: Don't accept checks. Don't even reply to inquiries that offer payment by check. Insist on cash. Cash can be sent safely by registered mail.

That requires lots of work, usually without compensation. Then you have to take it to the carrier unless you can convince them to come get it. If it gets damaged in shipment they still claim it was not packaged properly. --- Lots of effort, no reward. --- I leave the packing and shipping to the buye...

I am not surprised. Call me pessimistic but I have always considered a 'fragile' declaration to be an invite to the handlers to see what it takes to make the package rattle.
